19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard surfaces

A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has had a torrid season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and finally parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents the player's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.

Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 various events.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.

The player's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an better serve.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour title, took control to create a final set.

Moutet defended four initial chances in a tight third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
