Large-scale Russian Attacks Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
