Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Police say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report initial examinations show the liquid was probably human blood.
"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; officials are presently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they stated.
Local authorities announced they were working "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for details.
An important representative stated the vandalism made him without words and needed to be resolved promptly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
